ALUS Grey-Bruce
Là où l’agriculture et la nature se rencontrent

The ALUS program was originally introduced to Grey and Bruce Counties as a pilot project in 2012. Since then, Grey-Bruce has embraced the ALUS program and its principles, with very positive results for both agriculture producers and the community at large.

ALUS Grey-Bruce is a partnership between ALUS and the Grey Agriculture Services Center, a resource to which the local farm community looks for support and access to many types of agriculture programs.

The ALUS Grey-Bruce program recognizes land stewardship and assists farmers in implementing and funding projects to produce ecosystem services. It recognizes the value of conserving ecologically sensitive parcels of marginal land while maintaining active agriculture on the more productive areas. Overall, ALUS aims to improve the biodiversity on the agricultural landscape.

ALUS Grey-Bruce currently supports projects such as tree planting, wetland creation, buffer enhancement, exclusion fencing, grassland plantation/preservation, pollinator habitat and many more types of projects.

Interest in ecological and biodiversity projects on working lands continues to grow in Grey and Bruce Counties, allowing ALUS Grey-Bruce to expand the number of acres enrolled in the program, the scope of the projects on these acres, and the benefits they produce for our communities.
