March 25, 2025, Toronto, Ontario – ALUS and its Board of Directors are pleased to announce that Jordan Sinclair has been appointed as the organization’s new CEO effective April 1, 2025. Jordan succeeds outgoing CEO Bryan Gilvesy, who will transition to the role of Chief Strategy Officer to continue to support ALUS’ mission and growth.
Chip Pitfield, ALUS Board Chair, notes “ALUS farmers and ranchers are providing solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. Governments and corporations are increasingly recognizing this fact and are driving ALUS’ growth accordingly. The ALUS Board conducted a lengthy and rigorous executive search and were especially pleased that Jordan Sinclair proved to be the strongest CEO candidate. The fact that Jordan was hired in 2023 by Bryan Gilvesy, ALUS’ outgoing CEO, is evidence of the exemplary manner in which Bryan has led ALUS and its management team for many years. Our leadership transition will accordingly be smooth and the continued growth of ALUS’ delivery of ecosystem services and increased biodiversity is assured.”
Jordan brings a wealth of leadership experience informed by data-driven decision-making to her new role as CEO. She joined ALUS in 2023 as Vice President of Strategy and has been leading the organization’s ecosystem service quantification initiatives, driving efforts to measure and enhance the environmental benefits of ALUS projects. Prior to joining ALUS, Jordan was the Vice President of Data Insights at Deveron, where she developed field-scale research methodologies that enabled farmers to leverage their own data for more efficient and sustainable management practices. Jordan currently lives in Chatham, Ontario and holds a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and an M.A. in Applied Mathematics from Wayne State University.
“I am honored to step into the role of CEO at ALUS and build upon the incredible work that Bryan and the entire ALUS team have accomplished,” says Jordan Sinclair, incoming CEO, ALUS. “ALUS is at the forefront of delivering innovative, nature-based solutions that benefit both communities and the environment. I look forward to working with our dedicated team, partners, and the farmers and ranchers who make this work possible, as we continue to scale our impact and drive meaningful change for the landscapes and people we serve.”
Outgoing CEO, Bryan Gilvesy, has been instrumental in shaping ALUS into a nationally recognized leader in farmer-delivered nature-based solutions. Under his leadership, ALUS has expanded its reach across Canada, strengthening partnerships with farmers, ranchers, and policymakers to scale agricultural environmental stewardship. Bryan has championed farmers and ranchers as solutions providers to climate-related challenges and biodiversity loss, positioning ALUS as an innovator in agriculture-based conservation. His vision and dedication have fostered a strong foundation for the organization’s continued growth, and in his new role as Chief Strategy Officer, he will continue to support ALUS’ mission and strategic direction.
“It makes me extremely proud to say that Jordan is inheriting a strong team of next-generation leaders who are ready to respond to increasing demand for farmer-delivered nature-based solutions and broaden the organization’s environmental and social impact,” says Bryan Gilvesy, outgoing CEO and Chief Strategy Officer, ALUS. “I look forward to supporting Jordan as she builds on this success and positively guides the organization through its next stage of growth.”

About ALUS
ALUS envisions a future where all farmers and ranchers produce ecosystem services from nature-based solutions alongside food and fibre to help solve the crises of biodiversity loss and climate change. Through its turn-key community-developed, farmer-delivered program, ALUS supports more than 360 community leaders across 39 ALUS communities in helping over 1,700 farmers and ranchers build and actively manage 52,000+ acres of nature-based projects. These projects, like wetlands, grasslands and tree and shrub plantings, help capture carbon, keep lakes, rivers and streams clean, provide food and shelter for wildlife, and better prepare communities for extreme weather events like flood and drought.
ALUS also helps businesses, governments and organizations invest in new acres of nature created on agricultural land to generate positive environmental, economic and social outcomes in the communities where they operate—one acre at a time.
