ALUS launches Canada 150 campaign on Earth Day - ALUS Canada

TILLSONBURG, April 22, 2017— ALUS launches Canada 150 campaign on Earth Day

“Earth Day, held each year on April 22, is a celebration of the creatures, the wild places and the natural systems that sustain life on this planet,” says Lara Ellis, ALUS Canada’s Director of Strategic Initiatives. “Earth Day is also a call to action, inspiring us anew to protect what supports us all.”
And on that note, ALUS kicked off its first-ever fundraising campaign, assisted by Canada Helps, the Canadian non-profit that helps connect donors and charities online.
Running between Earth Day and Canada Day, ALUS Canada’s “New Acre” campaign aims to raise 150 gifts of $150, in honour of the nation’s 150th birthday. Click here to see our cool Canada Helps campaign page.
These donations will be used to make a real difference on the ground in 2017—for bees, for badgers, for bogs, and for all Canadians, as ALUS Canada rolls out its New Acre™ Project.
For more than a decade, ALUS has been investing in farmers and ranchers producing acres of ecosystem services—cleaner air, cleaner water, climate resilience, carbon sequestration, and habitats for wildlife and native pollinators.
This year, we are counting on Canadians to help make an even bigger difference on the ground, and bring this proven, next-generation conservation program to more Canadian communities.
